I was working on my laptop and minding my own business in my room when someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," I reply to see Ma coming in with firecracker herself.
"You missed the discussion Ehaan." Ma said in a disappointed voice. Like I've commited some kind of crime by escaping the chaos.
"Sorry Ma, I had work to do." I say while typing away in my laptop without bothering to look up even once.
"Always stuck to that thing." Ma muttered to which Saria chuckled.
That girl.
"Now listen. Ehsan and Fariha are going to Thailand tomorrow. Tanvir Bhaia already booked the flight tickets. Now you two," she gestured to me and the firecracker. "will handle the rest. Saria knows what Fariha will like. So you will plan and book everything for the whole week." she orders.
"Ma but-"
"No buts! Come on." she leaves. Just like that. Before I could say anything else.
"Hello Mr Attitude." Saria said with a fake smile.
"You do your thing, just tell me when to pay. I will." I say as I go back to working.
"Uh uh! I'll need your laptop," and without any warning, she takes it away.
"Excuse me?" I ask annoyed.
"You're excused." she says while typing something on my laptop.
"Hello Ma'am? You can't just take my laptop like that!" I say in a frustrated voice.
"I need it to plan everything. Now shush." she says and continues typing.
For about 30 minutes, I watched as this crazy girl was typing away in my laptop.
How is this even allowed? This laptop has confidential stuff!
"You know-" before I could finish, she shoves the laptop in my face. I look to she what she made.

I stared at it for a few minutes trying to take in everything she's listed. "How the heck did you plan all this in 30 minutes?" I ask shocked.
"I've been planning Fariha's honeymoon since we were little." she grins as if she was waiting for this moment forever. I mean, she probably was.
I sigh and take the laptop from her and start making the preparations following the timeline. Can't lie, this is impressive. Annoyingly impressive.
"Now I need to plan the family one." she goes on her phone and starts writing something.
"Family one?" I look up at her from my laptop.
"Yes!" she said like it was obvious and I was living under a rock.
"Right you miss all the memos. They're staying there for a week alone. And then all of us are joining them in a family vacation. And we're going to Phuket as well. So I need to plan that too!" she says and goes back to noting whatever she is noting.
I stare at her, horrified at the thought of it. "Hold up. I have to go to Thailand now? Why?" I ask annoyed.
Family vacations were always disaster. With me having to share a room with Ehsan and him annoying the hell out of me all night!
"Because everyone's going. And not everything is about you so shush." she says without looking up.
With a sigh, I start booking everything when she yanks laptop again.
"What now?" I ask.
"I'm just going to add a few extra instructions for the hotel." she says while writing something.
I take the laptop back to see her notes.
'Couple in honeymoon so make the room as romantic as possible. Rose petals everywhere!'
"Seriously?" I ask
"Yes! Fariha will love it. So Ehsan has to as well. Now book for the rest of the family as well. I sent you the info."
"How did you get my number?" I ask confused.
"It's not really that hard. It's in the company website." she said nonchalantly.
I look at her with pure annoyance as I get her text in my personal number. "The personal one." I spell it out for her.
"Oh, that. I had it for ages." she replies with even more nonchalance.
"How?"
"From Kabir."
"You asked for my number?"
"No, he just gave both yours and Ehsan's number to me. During the wedding preparations."
Right.
Need to have a serious word with Kabir.

I come back from the Rezas and start preparing for an appointment I have.
The appointement is at 10pm.
Yes 10.
Even I donn't get why people book this late.
Like yes of course you would want to sleep with the henna, hoping for a darker stain. But it takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to do one person! Doing a whole wedding team would take 5-6 hours.
Why are you making me go through that pain?
Yes they pay a little more for late-night appointments. But that doesn't help with the fact I have to come home so late. Thankfully though, apparently this is not for a wedding.
Apparently they're going back to their country to visit their relatives and wanted to get matching henna design for 4 sisters. Though I only do wedding mehendi. They really insisted I do their mehendi cause apparently they love my work.
Even after saying so many 'No's I said yes at the end.
I was so excited to start packing for the Thailand trip! Now I can't do it till tomorrow cause I'll definitely be home very late.
I walk to the bus station and start waiting for the bus when I feel a hand over my mouth.
Instead of freaking out, I bite into the hand. And hear a familiar voice.
"Ouch! Apu! Your teeth are sharper than a freaking shark!" I turn around to see Sayan. My cousin from mother's side. My only cousin from my mother's side.
I punch him. Not on the face obviously, on the shoulders. Lightly.
"What was that for?" I ask.
"To scare you." he chuckled.
"Baap re baap. Shei bhoi peye gechi." I say sarcastically. (Oh my gosh. I'm so scared.)
"What are you doing here so late?" he asked confused.
"Waiting for the bus. I have an appointment in another town." I inform. When I realise, he doesn't even live in this city.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I ask confused.
"I uhh..." he trailed off.
"You?" I wait for him to finish.
"You know her. I came to see her." he finished.
"Oh my gosh! Her? Erick? As in the girl you've been obsessed with since you first saw her? The one from highschool?" I ask to confirm though I was definitely right.
Erick wasn't her real name. Obviously. That's a boy's name. We used Erick to talk about her as Sayan's parents would not appreciate him liking a girl when he was that young. They were way stricter than my parents. Plus, he didn't want to tell me her real name. He insisted we call her Ericka. Which later changed to Erick so my Mama and Mami thinks it's a guy we are talking about.
(A/N: Mama means Mother's brother. Mami means Mother's brother's wife.)
Don't get me wrong. I don't straight up go to him infront of them and say things like. 'Do you still have a crush on Erick?' cause that would make things extra worse. More like, 'Do you and Erick still talk?' 'Do you know where he is?' and stuff.
"Wow! And you would've left without even telling me you came here! How nice of you. Fariha is still upset at you cause you missed her wedding." I say in disbelief.
"I know. I know. But I wasn't even in the country. Ma knows I'm still not. They think I'll be back a few hours later. I lied so I could come here and steal a glance of her before going back. I haven't seen her in ages."
"Aww see how much in love my brother is. Just tell me her name na! I might know her. And get you two together." I say for the hundredth time.
"No. Don't bother. You've helped me enough in high school. We are just not meant to be." he replied.
The bus I was supposed to get in gets to the stop, so I bid him goodbye and get in the bus.

The next day*
We finally arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
After coming out, I get shocked to see a freaking Limo waiting outside.
"Whose is that?" I ask Ehsan.
"What do you mean love? It's ours." he smirks.
"Ou-ours!? You got a freaking limo??" I ask shocked.
"Surprised already love? There's more waiting. Come on let's go." someone came and wanted to open the door but he suddenly stopped and went back.
Then Ehsan went and opened the door as I stared at him in confusion.
"What? Can't I open the door for my love?" he grins.
"Okay, Romeo." I couldn't help but chuckle as I get in.
-
I stare at the hotel in amusement.
Wow.
"Come on love." Ehsan gestures for me to follow him so I do.
We check in and Ehsan takes the keys and starts walking towards the lift as I follow him slowly while looking around the hotel.
Hotel Mandarin Oriental Bangkok.
I've always wanted to come here.
.
I enter the room and my eyes immediately widens in shock.
Everything was so beautifully decorated with flowers. Mocktails on the small coffee table. It looked majestic.
"Is it to your preference my love?" Ehsan whispers behind me as I nodded.
"That's good to know. Get some rest. We'll be leaving soon." he said and went out of the room.
I went to the bathroom to see even that was beautifully decorated.
I quickly took a shower and changed into a different dress. The dress Saria planned me to wear. She planned my outfit for everyday and evening according to the places we'll go. Though she did not tell me anything about where we are going. She told Ehsan.
Ehsan finally came in. "Come on."
"Where are we going?" I ask curiously.
"You'll see." he leads us out of the hotel and into the streets as I followed him.
We soon reached the river. It looked amazing as the setting sun's reflection was showing. A small cruise was there. Taking people in to go around the river. To my surprise, Ehsan leads me inside the cruise.
"We're here." he said after leading me to one of the corners of the cruise ship.
"Oh my gosh! It looks unreal!" I say as I look at the water as the ship starts moving.
-
We start eating as we enjoyed the view from the cruise ship. I look to the side to see Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn.
"Wow! So beautiful," I couldn't help but smile as I look at it.
"Yes, very beautiful." I hear Ehsan agreeing.
I look at him to see he was looking at me but then he quickly turned to the temple. I chuckle at his failed attempt so he looks back at me.
"What? I'm not lying." he said while defending himself which made me blush.
"Okay Romeo. But I'm only talking about the temple."
"But I'm talking about you love." he replies.
"You're so shameless!" I say to which he chuckles.
"Of course." he replied with another grin.
