Aryan's pov:

After a brief discussion of Ahaan Bhai trying to convince everyone that he didn't force Aliyah to marry him, I enter my room. She will also be my family now.

Her words come into my mind. 

I have no other family. 

No. No one else.

My friends are my only family.

Something big definitely happened between her and her family. Which she doesn't want anyone else to know. But Karya and probably their other two friends Nafisa and Noor Bhabi also know. 

Would the reason she is not with her family be related to what Ifran found out about Fahad? How am I supposed to know with so little information?

The door of my room swings open, revealing Ahaan bhai.

"Kya hua bhai?" I ask as I see him glaring at me. (What happened?)

"Your expressions. They hid something when Aliyah said she had no family." He starts interrogating me.

Oh shit. Since when did he get good at reading facial expressions?

Oh wait, he was good at that from the start.

Now what do I do? 

"Do you want an invitation letter for you to start speaking?" He says when I don't reply.

"An invitation letter would be amazing. Maybe not for this though. For your wedding would be better." I say trying to shift the topic. I didn't even know how much or less I knew. What do I tell him anyway?

"Ek thappad marungana to sidha garden mein ja kar padega." he threantens. (I'll slap you so hard that you'll end up in the garden from here.)

"Areh bhai. Sorry sorry." I hold out my hands.

"Now tell me. Why did your expressions change?" 

What do I say? Karya would definitely never talk to me if the news broke out because of me.

"She is getting engaged to me. I have the right to know don't I?" Ahaan bhai says when I don't reply.

"That is right. But the thing is, I myself don't know anything. I mean, I know but I don't know if what I know is right or wrong. It's all assumptions so I don't know. She is your to-be fiancé. Why don't you ask her yourself?" Did I just say 'know' a million times?

"Yeah. Like she would even tell me."

"Say, how did you make her agree? I am not stupid. You probably said conditions about it only being a contract marriage and stuff and also that you were desperate. But so far, I knew she hated you?" I ask to change the topic from her family.

"Oh that. I was surprised myself. As I was desperate, I kinda asked the first person who came up to me. But I didn't think she would agree." he looked like he was telling the truth so I don't push further.

"Tu zinda rehna chahta hai to apna muh bandh rakh. Going everywhere and spitting nonsense." he threatens right after. (Keep your mouth shut if you want to stay alive.)

"Areh bhai? What did I do?" I ask offended.

"What did you not do huh? ~Apke liye bahu le kar aageya isne~ Who told you to say that huh?" he says, mimicking me. (He brought you a daughter-in-law)

"Areh, but I was right!" I say boasting. I seriously did not think she was actually going to be another of my bhabi. I thought she came to meet Noor bhabi and then met Ahaan bhaia at the entrance possibly.

I said it as a joke so I was surprised myself when he said he brought her for the same exact reason.

"Yeah anyways. Back to the point. Just tell me, what do you know. No wait, let me rephrase that. Tell me whatever you assumed." he says when I was trying to say something else.

There goes the effort of changing topics.

"I am not sure how much I can say. It's her privacy. I even feel bad for knowing. She is your to-be fiancé, ask her. I'm sure she will tell you. Even the bare minimum. She is not an asshole like you." I earn a glare for him because of the last part.

"Oi! You two. What meeting are you having with him without me?" Aariz bhai enters.

"If I don't get an answer from her, I will ask you again so don't think you can run off." Ahaan bhai whispers right before Aariz bhai comes near us.

"What are you two whispering about?" he asks when none of us gave him the answer to the first question.

"He keeps threatening me! Do something bhaia!" I plead as I try to go behind Aariz bhai.

"I came here to kill you anyway. Two of us could kill you faster anyway. Ahaan Bhai, I'm with you." Aariz bhai goes to him. 

Traitor!

"Not two, three." Azaan bhai's voice was heard.

"Kya bhai? You too? Everyone is betraying me these days." I say trying to sound very offended and disappointed.

"Stop trying to play cupid Aryan." Azaan bhai said, reminding me of the incident that happened in the office today.

"Areh. He would later want us to play Cupid for him. Especially me and Ahaan Bhai." Aariz bhai says while smirking at me.

Oh no.

"Wo kyu?" Ahaan bhai asks confused. (And why?)

"Areh, wo ladki hai na? What was her name again? Karya or something?" Azaan bhai replies. (Oh you know that girl.)

"I am definitely not playing Cupid. I'm here trying to think how to not murder Aliyah." Ahaan bhai says making me laugh. Azaan the coldie would never laugh.

"And here I am. Trying to save myself from a freaking jhadu!" Aariz bhai said glaring at me.

"Jhadu?" Azaan bhai asks confused.

"Isse pucho. I don't have time." Aariz bhai points at me and then leaves. (Ask him)

"I don't have time for all this." Ahaan bhai also leaves.

"So, will I know about this jhadu thingy?" Azaan bhai says after everyone else leaves. I was surprised that he was interested so I told him everything I knew about the Jhadu incident.

And also that Noor bhabi gave me the job to always keep a jhadu outside their bedroom.

To which I obviously agreed.

Nafisa's pov:

"What? Since when? Where? Huh? Where is Aliyah?" I shout through the phone at Noor.

"She left with Karya. The dates will be decided tomorrow. Karya will go to you for the rest of the update and the reasons as well don't worry. I need to go now. Bye." she hangs up.

How was she this calm after dropping a bombshell on me?

Aliyah? Getting married? That too with someone she hates?

What was this reason that was too hard to say on call?

Today was already different as it is. Now this. 

My mind is still processing.

Flashback*

I got a promotion. Apparently Mr Raihan loved my presentation.

Which means I will not get fired. Thankfully.

"Nafisa isn't it?" I hear Aryan Raihan's voice behind me. "So eager to see my brother already?" he says making me go red.

"Tere pass kuch kaam nhi hai kya? Mere employee ko disturb kyu kr rha hai?" I hear Mr Azaan Raihan's voice from behind us. (Don't you have anything better to do? Why are you disturbing my employee?)

I was standing outside Mr Raihan's office waiting for him after knocking when Aryan came.  And now he came as well. 

Right when his brother was teasing me about him! Oh gosh.

"Areh bhai. I came here because I have work. And employee?" Aryan looks at me confused.

Right. No one except my family, friends and colleagues knew.

"She works here." Mr Raihan replied to him.

"Oh, accha. So that's how the romance started?" he said making me go all red again. 

Run Nafisa, now!

"Go inside the room." Mr Raihan ordered Aryan.

"Are bhai. My work is done. I'm going bye." he swirled his hands in front of Mr Raihan's face and left.

"Don't mind him. What are you here for?" Mr Azaan's gaze turned from annoyed to neutral again.

I wonder if he ever laughed or smiled.

Shut up Nafisa! It's not something to wonder about!

"Miss Ayaaz?" I realised I was frozen.

"Oh yes sorry sir." I hand him the folder in my hands. "Here."

"Thank you." he takes the folder. 

Flashback ends*

I need to talk to Aliyah. And maybe threaten to kill her as well. Like how can she tell those two but not me?

Is it my fault that I just didn't follow one of the Raihans- probably Mr Azaan Raihan cause the rest are in pairs but no that would be awkward what am I thinking?- inside the Raihan mansion?

She picks up in the last ring. That girl!

"When are you planning or inviting me? Ya mujhe bhul gyi apki wo pyaari Ahaan ki chakkar mein?" I say when she picks up. (Or did you forget me because of that lovely Ahaan?)

"Areh no. Wo kya hai na-" she starts explaining but I catch on faster. (No it's just that-)

"Chup reh tu! Ahaan Raihan? Who are you and what have you done to Aliyah?" I ask surprised. Aliyah never planned to get married. And marrying her enemy? That's just not Aliyah anymore. (Shut up)

"Areh Noor told you right? Karya will visit you and explain the rest don't worry. And it's not my fault you weren't in the mansion!" 

"Yeah yeah. I should've followed my boss into the house instead." I say sarcastically.

"You should've." Aliyah says seriously. This girl.

There were some noises from her side. 

That's weird. She lives alone.

"Gotta go. See ya!" Aliyah hung up before I could say anymore.

Why am I the one always living under a rock?

Aariz's pov:

Noor was sitting on the bed staring down like a mute ghost. This was unusally worrying.

She is never quiet. As soon as I enter, she starts yapping about either how her day went or about her shoots or even about annoying I am and how she would hit me with a jhadu.

Am I worrying about her? What is wrong with me?

Don't talk to her. Don't talk to her. Don't talk to her.

"Are you okay?" 

She doesn't look up. "Yeah I'm fine. Just worried about Aliyah that's all." 

"Don't worry too much. She'll stay here living with you, isn't that a good thing? And Ahaan might be cold, but not a psycho. Wait no actually I take that back. But he wouldn't do anything bad to Aliyah if that's what you're thinking." I was not lying. Even if he hates her and she hates him, she is probably safe with him.

"I'm not worried about that. Anyways, why are you asking?" she finally looks up.

Yeah, why was I asking? 

"Cause..." I trail off when she starts talking.

"You cockroach! You miss getting hit by a jhadu don't you!" she gets up looking happy again. At least the normal Noor is back. But now I have to deal with this cockroach stuff!

"What? No. Who would willingly like to get hit by a jhadu?" I say annoyed.

"Nice people." she says smiling.

"Yeah? Well, then I'm not nice." I say.

"Bad man!" she said while pouting.

She looked. Cute. Very cute.

Areh what am I thinking, gosh?

"Let's sleep. It's late now." I say and get up on my side of the bed. Well, annoying my new side of the bed. 

I've always slept in the middle and then sometimes rolled off to the right. And now she forced me to sleep on the left side!

"Yeah. I have a debut show tomorrow. Many important guests are coming to see my designs. It will be the whole base of my career. I am so nervous."

"You'll do amazing. I'm sure of it." I say assuring her. 

"You will come right?" she looks at me with all her hope.

"Yes of course." I say not wanting to break all her hope.

"Yay!" she lays down and soon falls asleep.

After she was completely asleep, I get out of the bed and come out of the room, making sure there was no one else there.

"Cancel all my shoots tomorrow. I have an important event to attend." I say when my manager picks up.

Then I get back inside our room and lay back on my side.

As soon as I lay down Noor hugged me in her sleep like I was her cuddling bear. 

I hug her back and drift off to sleep.
