Noor's pov:

'I swear! He is so annoying!' Karya texts me back in a second.

Apparently, Aryan was her ex-classmate and rival. She keeps on insisting he is annoying and all that. I think he secretly likes her. All the things she keeps saying keep on giving hints that he wants her attention.

I'm normally the one giving reality checks but I'm sure the reality is that he likes her. I'll need to ask him later when I find him alone.

"Noor! Do you have an extra dress in your carrier bag?" Aliyah comes running to me.

"Wait let me check." I take out my bag and look for a dress and find one at the bottom.

"Here. Why do you need it?" I give her a questioning look as she never wears a dress unless there is a dress code or a special occasion.

"Nafisa needs it." she runs off.

I put my bag back and sit back down on my seat. I open my water bottle and start drinking water when I realise, something does not feel right.

I run to the bathroom and spit all the water out. Ew!

It tastes disgusting! It tastes like vinegar! Ew! Who would-

I swallow my own question as I get out of the bathroom and realise who it is.

Aariz Raihan!

"Was your water too sweet darling?"

"Yes, but you're even sweeter!" I put on a forced smile and then glare at him. "Who the heck carries vinegar around?"

"Noor Dayyan." he says while shrugging

"What?"

"Your bottle doesn't even contain 0.1% of water. I poured it all out and put vinegar. You've been the one carrying it. So, Noor Dayyan carries vinegar around."

"Oh my gosh! You!"

"Chill darling. Just because I put vinegar in your bottle doesn't mean we're friends now. Don't forget the reason I agreed." And there it was. All my joy and hope shattered in a second all over again.

I mean, did I like the fact that he put vinegar in my bottle? Not at all. But this small event of bickering made me feel like we were a real couple for a few seconds before it got shattered.

"You're so impossible darling."

I lost it at his last sentence.

"Don't you dare call me that. You don't have the right to call me darling. Remember the reason you're marrying me, call me Noor. That's it."

"Okay."

Azaan's pov:

I tried my best not to, but my attention kept shifting to the person beside me every second. She was peacefully reading a book.

This was her third one on this ride.

I didn't mean to embarrass her. At first, I thought not bringing it up would be the best option, but I had to.

"Dear passengers," the pilot starts giving the announcement that we're landing soon and instructs us to wear our seat belts.

I put on my seatbelt and notice Nafisa didn't even look up from her book.

"Wear your seatbelt. We're landing soon." I inform her as she probably didn't hear the pilot.

"How do you know that?" she looks at me confused.

"They made an announcement a few minutes ago while you were reading."

"Oh." she silently puts on her seatbelt.

.

The plane lands as all of us get down. Nafisa disappears with her friends as Aryan and Ahaan bhai come up to me.

"Where's your jacket? It's so cold outside." Ahaan bhai stares at me from top to bottom giving me a judgemental look.

"It's stained."

"So you just took it off? Because of a small stain?" Aryan chimes in.

"Areh! I'm fine let's go!"

We take our luggage and leave the airport.

The soft air of Paris rushes through us. We get in our assigned car and leave for the hotel.

All the guests of both the groom's and bride's side are staying at the same hotel near the airport.

The closest families are going to stay in a different hotel near the Eiffel Tower. The wedding will take place on the ground floor of the hotel.

The haldi ceremony will be held in different places. I don't remember everything. And to be honest, I don't care.

I'm going to go inside my room in the hotel, close my door and stay there the whole time except when I have to stay at the events for the public's sake.

I have so much I need to do. If I don't do them right, my Father will be saying he shouldn't have given me this position. He wouldn't have any other choice anyway, but that wouldn't stop him from pointing out mistakes in everything I do. If I do concentrate on them too much though, my Mother will be disappointed that I'm not focusing on my dear brother's wedding.

They are always disappointed. Everyone is always disappointed.

Ahaan's pov:

I take the keycard out and open the room and then go inside. I push my luggage to one side and go out on the balcony. The Eiffel Tower was right in front.

I try my best to get my mother's words out of my head but it never goes.

Flashback*

"Remember your condition right?" Mum pulled me into a corner right when Aliyah left after telling me not to care about her well-being.

I did not give a fuck about her well-being. But she genuinely looked terrified which was a rare sight, so I got curious.

"Are you even listening?" she snaps in my face.

"Yes, I do remember."

"Good, remember, you'll need to find someone by the end of the year or-"

"Yes, I know. You don't have to remind me what you would do." I cut her off. "Why are you so eager to get me married anyway? That you even forced Aariz into a marriage?"

"That's not important."

"It is if you're so eager that you're even forcing Aariz to marry."

"I didn't force him. I only requested him, to which he said yes. And I only requested because of your condition that you'll find someone by the end of the year if one of your younger brothers marries. What kind of older brother are you?"

"Why are you blaming me? You haven't even answered my question yet!" I was pissed at this point. I don't know who is worse, Aliyah or my Mother.

"We just worry about you. Your marriage age will pass soon. And there are many lovely girls everywhere. Why don't you just find someone? Maybe even use this month to find someone there?" she starts requesting.

"I'll see. Not like I have any choice."

"Yes, you have made a promise. Raihans keep their promises. Don't forget."

Flashback ends*

That promise. Why did I even do that? Aariz obviously had to say yes. How could I forget Mum had Aariz under her command because she let him be an actor!

Finding someone by the end of the year? The year ends in two fucking months! How will I like someone in two months when I didn't like anyone in 27 years?

You made a promise. Raihans keep their promise.

Her words keep coming back.

I really need a fucking distraction. Anything.

"Something smells like rotten birdie. Oh wait, it's just the angry bird." The voice that normally would annoy me to death is heard.

Distraction.

"I was wondering why it felt like everything got dark. Turns out, it was the nightmare glooming around." I say as I look up. Her balcony was just above mine.

"I don't think it was very bright even before I came Mr Angry bird."

"Yeah, yeah. And you are the brightest star that shone through my life." I say sarcastically. "What are you even doing at this hotel? It's only for the bride's and groom's closest families."

"Yeah! Me and Noor, well and Karya and Nafisa as well, we are all basically sisters. Thus, I've been given a room here." she brags.

"That means I'd have to handle this nightmare for a month? Oh heck no."

"Oh heck yeah birdie."

"You got a single room?" I ask in confusion. I get the being in this hotel bit but wouldn't she possibly share a room with one of her other friends?

"Control your thoughts birdie."

"Excuse me?" I look at her in disgust. "I'm asking cause there is no way you got a single room without being direct family."

"Yeah you're right." she does a small clap. "Want a cookie?"

"No." I glare at her.

"I'm sharing a room with Noor until she moves in with your brother after the reception."

I obviously know the answer, but to piss her off, I still ask, "Which brother? I have 3."

"Hmm, I don't know. Maybe ~Azaan~ oh no, maybe ~Aryan~ actually. WHAT YOU MEAN WHICH BROTHER? Who else will she share a room with except her husband?"

Exactly what I wanted. "Just asking to make sure."

"Yeah, no. It's okay. Angry birds are stupid anyway. It's good that you fit in."

"You! Are so annoying!"

"You're more annoying."

"You're most annoying!"

"You're more than most annoying!"

.

By the time we finished our 'Who is more annoying' contest, as we got interrupted by Noor, I had everything out of my brain.

The distraction.

It worked.
